LoyalFree’s 2019 Round Up

Written by Heather Topics: App User, BID, Blog

2019 has been the busiest one yet here at LoyalFree – expanding our award winning loyalty app into 15 towns and cities! We now operate across much of the UK, from the Lake District down to Surrey, and promote over 2,000 businesses on the app. We were ecstatic to surpass 40,000 users back in November and you really have been busy, collecting nearly 15,000 rewards through the app.

Back in March LoyalFree partnered with local charity, St Matthews Big Local, to boost trade in Leicestershire by offering a digital marketing platform to businesses within the area. LoyalFree now helps over 20 businesses in the St Matthews Big Local area. Later on in March LoyalFree also scooped up the FSB award for Digital Innovation at the East Midlands finals.

Working in many towns, March saw the launch of LoyalFree into another city. In a flash mob launch with retailers, the app was introduced in Lincoln, featuring on the BBC News later that day!

This was followed by an exciting trip to Japan in May where the Co-Founders of LoyalFree were invited to speak at the World Towns Leadership Summit on how technology can be used to meet the changing demands of modern consumers.

In September, we were also delighted to find out we had been named one of the 50 most innovative businesses in the Midlands. The report, compiled by Mills & Reeve, highlights innovative success stories from across the region. In October, LoyalFree was delighted to also enjoy the accolade of being named as ‘2019’s Best Mobile Loyalty App’ by SME News.

As well as helping you save money when you shop local, this year LoyalFree launched more app features to help you discover everything your local area has to offer! The new tours & trails feature works by grouping together businesses to make life easier. For example, a trail could see a group of businesses combined into one easy-to-access place which customers can use to complete their Mother’s Day shopping or discover a Gluten Free trail that promises to help those with dietary requirements dine out safely. We have seen some wonderfully innovative trails so far including the Incredible Edible Brighouse which turns unloved spaces in Brighouse into beautiful, practical allotments for all to use.

LoyalFree are now thrilled to announce our new charity initiative scheme whereby we will donate 1p for every loyalty stamp collected around the UK on the app. Over time the new campaign will support various causes across the UK, starting with supporting the Give Leicester campaign to help tackle homelessness in the City. After agreeing to backdate the pledge, we have already donated over £1,000 to this campaign! Watch this space – in March 2020 our ‘give as you save’ initiative will move to support another worthy cause from one of our other partnership towns and cities!

Looking in to 2020 we are excited to be launching in to more towns and cities across the UK, starting with our new partnership with Bristol Broadmead in January. Make sure you keep an eye out for a launch near you!

View all the offers, events and trails near you and start saving by downloading the app for free here: https://bit.ly/2YZGHuI or download the app for Android or iOS by searching ‘LoyalFree’ on the app stores.
