What does the LoyalFree app do?

LoyalFree is a multi award-winning place app, designed to boost footfall and sales in town and city centres. App users can save money when they shop local and discover exclusive deals, exciting local events and interactive trails all on their smartphone!

The partnership

Lincoln BIG (Lincoln’s Business Improvement District) partnered with LoyalFree in February 2019 and they have enjoyed wonderful success! This is no surprise after their fantastic and enthusiastic launch; a flash mob outside

the city’s Guildhall to welcome the LoyalFree app to the city, catching the attention of 100s of shoppers and tourists! The Lincoln launch resulted in print, web, radio and television coverage across the city and the East Midlands.

Also at the launch were representatives from the City of Lincoln Council, Visit Lincoln and businesses to highlight how Lincoln’s free Wi-Fi is encouraging shoppers and tourists to make the most of the LoyalFree App. It is believed to be the first time that a free Loyalty App and Wi-Fi have been offered as a joint benefit for shoppers and visitors to the city.

Lincoln BIG’s decision to sign-up to LoyalFree has given its levy payers the power to offer people a fantastic range of money saving deals in Lincoln, post details of special sales and much more. As well as local businesses benefiting from advertising in the local area, customer insights and social media support, a local guide also help visitors with vital tourism information while an events section will showcase activities in the area.

“We are thrilled to launch the Loyal Free App, which is already creating a real buzz among our levy payers and shoppers’ Sarah Loftus – Chief Executive, Lincoln BIG.

“It’s great to see details of special offers, deals and city events, including the Watersides full calendar of activities, in one easy to use free app.” Dean Cross, Waterside Shopping Centre, Lincoln

By linking the information directly from the app to the BID website LoyalFree has also been able to create an up to date directory of offers for the public to access.

Furthermore, through co-branding within the app, Lincoln BIG is able to keep the offering in line with their own well-known BID brand, but the public still has the flexibility to use the app across the country by changing their location.

The results speak for themselves….

There are currently over 2,000 engaged LoyalFree app users in Lincoln and they are extremely busy racking up over 27,000 app interactions in the Lincoln area!

LoyalFree currently promotes nearly 200 Lincoln Businesses for free on the app including well known national chains like Carluccio’s and wonderful independents like Steep Hill Wines.

“We are loving it. Customers who have already downloaded the App are enjoying using it and we are able to tell others how they can do that and benefit. Kirsty Jones, Carluccios Lincoln

The best trails in Lincoln

The tours & trails feature works by grouping together businesses to make life easier. For example, a trail could see a group of businesses combined into one easy-to-access place which customers can use to complete their Mother’s Day shopping or discover a Gluten Free trail that promises to help those with dietary requirements dine out safely. Lincoln has seen over 1,000 trail interactions through the app since trails were launched this summer! Particular trails which have attracted attention in the city include Dog Friendly Lincoln and the Lincoln Ale Trail. Dog Friendly Lincoln features many shops, cafes and other locations who will welcome your furry friend!

The Ale Trail has 29 of the greatest places around Lincoln city and countryside to shop for unique ale and beer: a mix of well-known supermarkets and food halls, with specialist producers and independent shops; helping users find hidden gems in the area.
