Dorking Town Partnership are working alongside award winning high street app LoyalFree during the current Covid-19 crisis. Partners since 2018, the town partnership has worked closely with LoyalFree to provide local businesses a platform to promote offers, event listings, interactive trails and more.

Working together, LoyalFree and Dorking Town Partnership have quickly adapted the technology to use in new and creative ways. Utilising technology, app users can now access trails which inform them which businesses and services are still operating during this challenging time.

Currently live on the app are three useful ‘Trails’ which group together businesses into an easy to digest format. An ‘Online Shopping’ trail which is showcasing local businesses that are operating out of online shops, so there is no need to leave your home. The ‘Open for Business’ trail lets locals know which stores are still open for example Waitrose and Dorking Plumbing. The final trail, ‘Dorking Home Delivery and Collection’, ensures app users can pick up all their essentials through safe delivery and takeaway services. For those without access to the app there are also listings of all these trails synced to the Dorking Town Partnership website.

The town partnership are delighted to be able to carry on encouraging the local community to shop local, whilst supporting government safety guidelines. Charlotte Whittaker, Dorking Town Partnership Manager commented ‘This is an extremely challenging time for everyone and we want to encourage everyone to support local businesses safely by downloading the LoyalFree app and utilising the new trails, found in the main menu. We hope this information is useful for our community.’

Sophie Hainsworth, Co-Founder of LoyalFree, added ‘In such a testing time for the high streets it is crucial for us to adapt our technology to allow the public to support local businesses whilst staying safe at the same time. We are delighted to support the local businesses in Dorking with our platform.’

In addition to this, LoyalFree has also adapted their offering to temporarily promote online offers, allowing businesses an additional platform to reach customers during this crisis. For example, Calliope Gifts are now offering a 10% discount online for LoyalFree app users, who can find the discount code within the app. Other businesses are still using the app to promote offers, such as Dorking Elite Taxi who are offering 20% off fares and a free ride for NHS key workers.
