Discover Lanark and One Carluke have launched a new joint partnership with multi award winning app LoyalFree, as part of their recovery plan from Covid-19. Live in over 20 towns and cities in England, Lanarkshire are paving the way for digital solutions by launching the project in Scotland.

LoyalFree is an innovative place promotion app which showcases vital area information for locals and visitors including a local guide, exclusive deals and loyalty schemes, fun local events and interesting trails. Businesses in the towns will benefit from advertising opportunities, customer insights and social media support. The dynamic app allows users to benefit from using just one app across the UK.

Discover Lanark and One Carluke have come together to work collectively to create the environment for businesses in the area to succeed. Local businesses already signed up to the app include Jappacakes, McKellars Jewellers, Flowers by Lesley Strachan and Braidwood Car Wash, with more being added every week.

The app launch comes at the perfect time, coinciding with the Scotland Loves Local campaign led by Scotland Towns Partnership who are also providing funding for this project. Scotland Loves Local is a national campaign designed to encourage all those who live in Scotland to think local first and support their local town centres and high streets safely and in line with public health guidelines.

Phil Prentice, STP CEO commented “Scotland Towns Partnership are ecstatic to see two towns working together on a digital initiative across the Lanarkshire area. The LoyalFree app has so much potential to bring extra sales and footfall to businesses, not to mention the opportunity to engage the public with interactive trails in the area at this critical time.”

LoyalFree’s digital trails are one way app users can explore the history of the area, hidden gems and best independents. There are already more than 10 exciting trails live on the app including Pubs of Carluke and Lanark Heritage Trail. In the future, interactive experiences in the town will be run through the app.

Sophie Hainsworth, co-founder of LoyalFree, added: ‘‘We are delighted to expand the LoyalFree app in Scotland and be able to support even more businesses in this recovery period with a digital solution. We have seen a brilliant uptake from businesses across Lanarkshire.’’

Download the app before the 24th August and you can be in with a chance of winning a meal for 2 at New Lanark Hotel Restaurant. The in app competition can be entered with just one click every day for even more chances to win!
